| The Lord gathered together three women in the fall of 1972. One
woman had lost her mother, a niece and a nephew in tragic deaths
that year, another had cancer and the third, her husband had just
suffered a severe heart attack. They have been sharing their
Prayers, Works, Joys and sufferings with each other. They had coffee
together on three occasions at each other’s homes and began to pray,
“Lord where two or three are gathered in your name you would be in
the midst of them” and they asked Him to send more so that they
could share God’s love. One week later 12 women gathered at a beach
house in Passe a Grille. The group is nondenominational, the women
and men serve the Lord in many ways, volunteering at hospitals, in
their churches, feeding the hungry, visiting the sick, keeping the
lonely company, etc. They usually begin their meetings with a prayer to the Holy Spirit. They pray for their pastors, their pastors intentions, parents, friends, children, needs of the world around us, for their churches. They share scripture and they share the stories of their own walk with the Lord. They share their struggles, achievements, concerns and whatever they come across that helps them in their journey. They help each other in every way along the way. They become involved in their communities, one helping to found ALPHA and another parent helped to form the parent association at St. Petersburg Catholic High School. Each one has been enriched personally in all aspects of their lives. They welcome new members to join them in prayer. Please join the Women at the Well on Wednesday’s at 9:00 a.m. in the Fr. Luis Cancer Room. The following is one of their favorite prayers. |

| Father give me the best gifts you have for me. When I need health GIVE ME JESUS for He is the Healer. When I feel sad GIVE ME JESUS for He is Joy. When I feel weak GIVE ME JESUS for He is Power. When I feel anxious GIVE ME JESUS for He is Rest. When I feel nervous GIVE ME JESUS for He is Peace. When I feel lonely GIVE ME JESUS for He is my Friend. When I feel bound GIVE ME JESUS for He is freedom. When I feel discouraged GIVE ME JESUS for He is Strength. When I feel darkness GIVE ME JESUS for He is Light. When I am empty GIVE ME JESUS for He is Fulfillment. When I need forgiveness GIVE ME JESUS for He is The Savior. When I need love GIVE ME JESUS for He is Love.
