Easter Greetings!

Pastoral Communications – Fr. Frank

Alleluia, the LORD is Risen!

Beloved Parishioners

May the Peace and Joy of our Risen Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ be with you!

It gladdens my heart to wish you a Happy Easter and all the divine promises the Risen Lord bestows upon those who bless His Name. Our Christian faith informs us, that there is no day of the entire year that can compare with EASTER SUNDAY. No wonder St. Athanasius described the Easter Sunday as: “the Great Sunday of Sundays”, “the Great Feast of feasts”, “the Great Solemnity of solemnities.” If Christ had not risen from the dead on the Easter Sunday morning, and appeared to his disciples and empowered them with the Holy Spirit, the disciples would never have the courage to preach the Good News of the Resurrection to the ends of the earth. But they proclaimed Him because they had seen Him alive after His Resurrection.

Christ's Descent into Hades – icon explanation – Orthodox Road

The Resurrection of Christ is a great testament that though evil, and Covid -19, and death, and all the other trials,  still exist around us, these will not have the last word, but God alone who raised Jesus Christ from the dead will have the last word. As St. Paul testifies: “We now know that Christ, raised from the dead, dies no more; death no longer has power over him.” (Romans 6:4, 9)

So, knowing that we are Easter people saved through Christ’s sacrificial death and Resurrection, let us rejoice and be glad that we have a share in His triumphant victory and glory, at God’s right hand in the heavenly places. Alleluia!
