Daily Reflection –Tuesday, May 5th, 2020
The sheep that Jesus refers to in today’s Gospel passage (John 10:22-30) are not at all like the “ones” in the Temple area asking him mean questions simply to challenge him. “If you are the Christ, tell us plainly,” they ask. In fact, after this exchange, the next verse tells us that they picked up stones to throw at him.
We can sometimes find ourselves between these two extremes, not against Jesus, but not ready to fully trust him either. Our faith may waver; we may have doubt or uncertainties; we may have questions.

So, the call to live like the sheep, hearing the voice of the shepherd and following him, does not mean we will not ever have doubts or questions, but rather, it means believing that the Lord’s mighty and powerful hand is leading us, and no one will take us from him. “If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31-39). AMEN.
Peace be with you!
